Our first find of the day - up visiting Claydon House and decided to use our National Trust membership and do some caching at the same time.
Nice easy find, we like these graveyard caches but this graveyard seems to be a bit neglected and yet still people are getting buried here! Dipping Rav4 TB.

GCTRA6: Under Cover...A Matter of Time

We arrived in Fringford mid afternoon having never been before and to do a good trail. We were caching paperless and attempted this after the other 2 nearby caches. We were on Shanks's pony and so we arrived at specified GZ but were utterly confused by the cache page wording and clues - since we were expecting a multi in the sense of a container or questions to answer at the start. We therefore decided to abandon it and get on with the traditionals, with hope in the back of our minds that a lightbulb might flick on and we could come back to it.
Several caches later we were heading back down Main Street towards the car to head home. We were thoroughly exhausted due to the humidity but suddenly both spotted a rather prominent yellow sign and both of us knew this must be it. We headed back to the car then pelted down main street in search of the other clues. Then the cache description all started to make sense, we finally found ourselves at the church and parked up here and began to look for one of those elusive public footpaths which tend to look like a small gap between two neighbouring property fences.
After finding the footpath, we were well on our way and into another beautiful area - unfortunately it was now that I discovered why it pays to buy a backup battery for my DSLR and so I exhausted the battery and could take no more photos. But this was a nice ending to our caching experience and a great place for a hide. I was very pleased to have managed to get this one before we left!
FYI: We found the first set of coords to be most accurate. Also this seems to be a bit of a hybrid multi-puzzle. I think it would better suited listed as a puzzle, as we found it confusing. However I say this coming from the paperless perspective where some formatting is lost in the mobile software so it's less clear where the back-story ends and the clues begin.

GC22710: The Rainwater - Uncle Benjy #1

We were up visiting family as it was the nephew's birthday recently and we bought him a battery powered car. He is now 3 years old and has been caching since he was 2! [:D] This is his third cache.
This was a neat cache and dash, easy for us to drive up and after a little scuffling we saw what the frogs could see and retrieved the cache. It was nice to find a good size container around here (and correctly size rating too). I usually don't mind doing the micros, but now I got the nephew hooked we like to be a little prejudiced towards caches with swag.
Some nice toys here, nephew swapped a few of these Go Go things for another toy thing and we were back on our way. Dipping Rav4 TB, TFTC!

GC111ZF: Rubicon - The Crossing

This was quite a hike from "Who has the Gaul..." to be fair though I think we made it more hard work than it needed to be. We headed North up the road and got to a nice country house and found the public footbridge which took us into a horses field. As soon as the horses saw us on the bridge they galloped over - all four of them to greet us.
Well Mrs Fitz freaked out a little due to a childhood incident/injury with a horse and these guys (or should I say girls) would just not let us move forward off the bridge. Eventually they backed out a little and I was able to squeeze by and as I made my way into the field I picked up 2 very, very close admirers (or should we say stalkers - can horses be stalkers?). So close, they insisted on following me the whole length of the field and nuzzling my backpack, then walking in front and cutting me off twice. It was a little unnerving if I am to be honest - was I going to have to promise to marry one of them before they let me go?
In the meantime, Mrs Fitz made her way stealthily behind and past the little equinous love-in that was taking place in the middle of the field.
Well they may have been a tad over familiar, particularly on the first date but they did let me leave the field without having to file sexual harassment charges so it wasn't all that bad. We then made our way on through the next field and now the GPSr was once again failing for me but working perfectly well in my wife's hands. We ended up going into the corner then realising we needed to double back and cross over the style into the other footpath.
Once on the bridge, the cache(s) were soon found. Yes there are two caches here, how did this happen? One was quite dusty and covered by spider webs and both were a little damp. However an excellent hiding spot!
We headed back a different route which took us all around the back of the church and in a complete circle - nice hike overall. TFTC!

We have the Gaul to come here! Actually this area has become quite overgrown since it was last visited - you can tell by the fact that there was no cachers trail at all. Thankfully we were able to bushwhack through all the waist high nettles and reeds without the need to visit Getafix for a top-up.
Found by the wife again, whilst I did all the paperless stuff. Took PC Timmy TB, Kiwi Seeker TB was not in the cache.

Fresh log this time! Got to GZ and started searching around this incredibly small gate (had to hold my beer gut in to get through) then found after broadening the search.
This meadow was difficult to find, the footpaths around here that lead from the housing estates seem to be very well hidden and don't look public at all. Disappointed to see dog walkers letting their mutts roam free and pooping all over despite the notice.
