Nice view of the Baggy from here, we hiked over from Hanglider Heaven and though the sun was not out, it probably made our hike easier.

Wife found this one and cleaned it a bit as it was a bit damp and muddy inside. Took Ninja Duck TB, no sign of "www.wuppertal.de".

TN Left a silicon gel packet (not as a trade item but just to soak up moisture).

After a 3km hike this morning and a rainy afternoon spent on the 2p slot machines in Ilfracombe, when the rain ended we thought this wouldn't be too difficult to do a short hike and find this one.

Parked as suggested and headed up. I don't know why but I always to get a bit of tunnel vision when I stare at the GPS and so just after the gate off we despite my wife's pleas to stick to the path, off we bushwhacked in a straight line until we met up with the path again. For future hunters, no need to bushwhack this one.

As we ascended to the peak, it then began to rain again, and the already slippy path got muddy in some parts. But what's a bit of mud eh?

Got to the top and surveyed the bay of Ifracombe under heavy grey clouds - took some pictures, then looked around for the cache. After reading the hint we started looking round the most obvious place, wind and rain now beating against our windbreakers and whistling around our ears.. it's all about the cache.

So we dug around, found a few holes around this concrete slab and no cache did we find. To tell you the truth we were starting to get a little disheartened and testy. The obvious questions of doubt were starting to rise "has it been muggled?" we asked. After about 30 minutes of searching and being battered by the elements, I sat down on the bench got out the BlackBerry and started reading through previous logs for a clue - but to no avail.

It was then I mentioned the words we do not speak.

"I think we may have to log this as a D__ N__ F___." Even the wife who passionately did not want to give up was starting to feel it. "Well, at least we got the view,." said I trying to put a positive spin on it.
"I don't care about the view!" my wife yelled sulkily.
"Well, let's just get out the GPS and do one last check" I said.

I walked away about 10m then walked back again, and the GPS seemed to lead me past the concrete slab and towards the path again. I said to the wife we should just check along the sides here before leaving. Lo and behold a minute later, an excited noise from wife as she spotted a new concrete.

"Cement!" she squealed. Well she got the idea anyway.

And there we found your deceptively hidden little cache. I'm sure you have a giggle to yourself when you thought of all those geocachers who will wander around that bench scratching their heads. Well, we found it, and we put it back.

Took thrupence, left a micro stamp collection. Also took TB and GeoCoin. Dipping Canadian Tourist.

Spotted this one right away. I seem to be good at the caches hidden in this position. Finished this up then we headed to the White Bear for a pint of Guinness and some Nobbies peanuts.

Thanks for the great series and showing us a bike trail that we did not know of only round the corner from our home! We have lived in Watford for just over a year and geocaching has been great for discovering this area.

"So, do you think that extendible mirror would have worked back there?" said the wife smiling sarcastically. She was referring to something I wanted to buy for geocaching, as we walked away from GZ located in the middle of a field North of Rickmansworth.

I had worked out the coords wrong and not only had I done that, I had 'solved' the puzzle that a few days ago my wife expressed disappointment at not getting a chance to do it with me. Well, now she got her chance at least. But getting the coords wrong not by just a few feet, try over a mile away - through a cornfield and a thorny hedge.

So we got the right coords in and found the spot after a most enjoyable hike to the middle of some cornfield. At least I had the sense to question the coords before attempting the search.

Nice hiding spot, found a weird plastic shoe sole also at the spot - don't know if that was part of your hide so left it there.

Took the keyring torch and left a magnetic flashing light nano. Needs 3x of those small batteries to work, I don't know if it's waterproof so I wouldn't use it for a cache.

Quite enjoyed finding this one, despite struggling to find the identity of the comedian (I was born well after 1960's).

Had to look up who it was online but then once I'd got the name/date I found it (the gravestone).

Muggles having a wedding in the church and around the front but no-one round the location of the cache and they didn't seem interested in a guy in jeans and t-shirt wandering around with a GPS in one hand, a BlackBerry in the other and examining all the gravestones.

Nice hide. Did not see Duke Nukem TB, but left my Drop of Guinness TB. CITO'd a wet and soggy bar of soap (no-one's gonna take it).

I am sorry to report upon finding the magical door to the Pixie Hideout that it was completely filled with sawdust.

Upon digging the cache out of the sawdust I noticed it too had been sabotaged and filled with sawdust.

Emptied the cache, tried to clean up best I could and CITO'd items that were damaged. Tried to put back and hide best I could. Obviously I, TNLNSL and suggest urgent maintenance.

Camera was also all used up (damaged?) so could not take a photo but I am adding a photo of the cache so you can see what state it was in when I found it.

Since there was no ransom note, have to assume Pixies are dead or relocated to a new hideout.

Wife found this with me on her lunch break. Coords were a little off but hint was good enough.

Nice hide in a quiet spot, my first in London. Unfortunately I suspect this has been plundered by cache-pirates as there was no Geocoin and hardly any trades in it.

Looking back through your logs, could someone be targetting this cache knowing people leave swag and shiny's in it?

Anyway decided to trade for an interesting looking pin badge and left a few more items including a Slovak keyring in order to replenish.

Suggest next few cachers do the same, but check on inventory, and if it keeps going down, might be worthwhile moving this one.

[:P] FTF!

I had about an hour before my wife got home on the tube, so I decided that's gotta be enough for 1/2 in the woods. Boy, was I wrong.

I parked up on Old Shire Lane, got out the car and switched on my Garmin. No response. Aah, Ok, batteries - good thing I brought spare rechargeables. Popped them in and off we go.

Lovely woods, thought I, reminded me of geocaching in Canada last month when I first started doing this. The sun was low and the sunset cast a perfect light through the tree trunks - I'll grab some photo's on the way back, said I.

Finally getting nearer to GZ, what's this, a steep hill of course. Make my way down and the coords are pointing me right on top of a pile of logs. I searched around a bit and then checked out the hint. Yup, this seems to be the right place.

Now, of course I read your little warning about the trees affecting the GPS, but I was in the middle of an opening and this GPSr is not bugging around, so I thought I was having a good day, so far.

But after searching around a few different piles of logs, both in and out the woods, I decided that I best lift some. And lift I did.

I think it was mainly my sweat that brought out the mosquitos. Pesky little things, hovering behind my ears, after a bite at my arms or forehead. You see I got bit a few days ago on the calf of my leg and it swelled up like a watermelon. I don't react very well to mosquitoes you see - I didn't want to get bitten on the forehead and end up coming out of the woods looking like the elephant man.

So here I am lifting logs, looking like a madman in the woods arms flailing trying to fend off these mozzies. I am definitely going to by some repellent for my next hunt.

Anyway after about 25 minutes of hauling logs I decide to go back and read your description again, then it dawned on me. What if GZ was literally under the trees (I thought the trees was just a warning for GPSr reception).

So then I decide to go hunting round the log piles under the trees and found your sneaky hiding place!

I opened the cache and retrieved my prize - a geocaching pen - very useful, but at this point I think I would have preferred to find a cigar. Signed the log and left a ribbon with a bell attached to it, and placed the cache back where I found it.

By this time it was getting dark, and it was then I realised I was in a bad phone reception area. Walking back up the hill I got 4 texts from my wife in order:

1. "Hi, which station are you picking me up from?"
2. "Going to Watford as I haven't heard from you."
3. "Walking home now."
4. "At home. Where are you?"

Doh!

I called and a tearful and worried wife answered and asked me to get back right away. So I dutifully stepped up my pace through the now very dark woods - couldn't take any of those planned photos anyway - and the batteries of my camera had now decided to cop out.

Back home to chicken and chips and much apologies to the wife.

Would you believe from the 2nd egg (5. Park Road) the wife was insisting we walk to this one? Until I pointed out to her that the GPSr was telling us it was over 2km away. Then she agreed that we should do the one in Ricky then go back to the Rav and drive over to the other end of town.

Sun began to shine just as we got in the car, when we got to the car park and got out the heavens opened and it literally poured down. I would have shaken a fist in the air if I had not been carrying an open umbrella, GPSr and a notepad in my hands.

Great view, will come back here to take photos when it's a bit dryer, but can't say much for the smell of dog crap.

Right, onto the next egg, we decided to follow it straight from this one and walk up the side of the field - wife made a quick snack of the blackberries that were on the side of the dirt path.

Of course, not reading the logs before we went, we made the same mistake as previous cachers of walking round the field and not back up the road. If I wasn't such a good sport I'd say you had a little chuckle to yourself as you planted this second one! "Ho ho, wait till they realise they've got to trundle all the way back to the car park and up the road again."

Well, I guess we got the better of you there, we managed to cross over through a hole in the wire fencing.

Of course it's still pouring down with rain and yours truly is soaked, unlike the wife who sensibly brought her coat. She loves being right, as well as dry.

Wife discovered this, I had two mozzie bites on my right leg from yesterday which swelled up to the size of a cricket ball and was now finding it difficult and painful to crouch down.

Anyway, on to the last egg.

OK, this is our first visit to Great Yarmouth and I have to ask, what's with all the puzzle caches?

I had planned a route all the way from Watford but everytime we stopped to do a quick cache n dash - a new puzzle to solve. Due to time constraints we had to leave some of them. [:(]

Anyway, are we supposed to research the answers online before seeking because we looked all around up and down the pier asked a couple of muggles and yet could find no billboard or office with the information.

Instead I looked at your hint, previous comments and deduced the location - good hide by the way and great location.

Would be worth noting where you can obtain this information from, without the need for armchair caching.

Not sure such a Devilishly hid cache belongs in such a Godly place but here goes... [}:)]

After a great sunny afternoon in Great Yarmouth, we decided to attempt a little cache n dash on the way back to Watford.. and well whaddayaknow another puzzler!

Walked around the church, trying to look as inconspicuous as possible - being about as inconspicuous as a clown at a funeral, thankfully there didn't seem to be anyone there. I was half expecting to be accosted by one of those friendly vicars.

Looked up the clues then found the hinted spot. But not until after we had trampled disrespectfully over some graves and stood staring into a nearby tree for about 10 mins. It was clue number C that threw us off. We were undecided about whether the crucifix over the entrance archway would be considered as part of the roof or not - turns out it was.

We amended our coords and upon arriving at the new GZ it made a bit more sense. Now this was troubling - it was an obvious hide but somehow not obvious. First, the wife took a look and couldn't spot anything - even with a torch - I highly recommend a torch for this one.

Then after mooting around a bit and staring at the floor trying to suss if it was a red herring, I got up and took a look and on the off chance spied the hiding location of this none too obvious giveaway.

Left a Canadian Cent for the trouble. TFTH. [;)]

GC1D8Z4: SideTracked - St. Albans Abbey

After a couple of discouraging DNF was nice to get this one!

Good hiding place, took us a while to figure out the hint as GPSr was leading us all over the place.

Had to wait for a couple of muggle taxi drivers who decided to drive into and wait in car park for about 20 mins - not picking anyone up.

GC193RE: Croxleys Deadliest Cache

Good hide - really liked the shape of this cache... We spent ages hunting for a small box but not this kind of box!

Again brilliant effort on the unique caches, but I'd call this a micro again because it is untradeable ie. this is the same size as a key-hider and any space is taken up by the log paper.

Nice hidden old orchard(?) here.

I like the unique cache containers so far - good effort. Not sure I'd call this a small container - recommend you change it to a micro (eg. if I were to bring a travel bug or even a geocoin it would not fit).

Also GZ about 5-10 ft away from cache - but it was fairly obvious one anyway.

Nice hide. Took us a while but the trees gave us some shelter from the rain. Would definitely recommend a torch for finding this one even with the hint.

Took Cecilia1of3 TB and Left Crop Circle TB, where the UFO dropped us off!

Good hide. Had to bushwhack through some undergrowth - found by the wife.

Rescued a stamp collection which was soaked through (but intact) - currently drying out separately on our living room table. Left behind at 21st Birthday key.

I was due in to our offices on nearby Chiswick High Road, spotted this little fella in my GPSr and decided to bunk off work early to go find it.

I didn't think to bring a coat this morning and just as I tweeted I was "Gone Geocaching..." did the heavens open and raindrops the size of apples dripped down. Still, the rain couldn't dampen my enthusiasm and it was not long till I stepped off the concrete jungle into this mysterious little jungle in the heart of Chiswick.

Went bushwhacking for this one and had to double back quite a long way - in my soaked cargo pants and cotton shirt - felt very inadequate and totally unequipped for this mini rain-forest.

Anyway, I found it. Brilliant location and hide, I did not want to put my hand there to retrieve it but plucked up the courage and when I opened the tin I almost dropped it as the spider inside startled me. Kudos to the last cacher!

I took Homer and left a small Porsche 911. I also took the crazy Crop Circle Geocoin - maybe this was the source of all the freak weather and mysterious growth?

TFTC!

Nice hide, pleasant canal walk, few muggles around but they did not really notice.

Dropped off TSB Geocoin, seemed like a suitable environment.

[Nice and easy find.]

This was high up in the tree when we came across it. I was concerned that some geocachers may not be able to climb and retrieve it so I moved it lower down in the tree which was coincidentally a better more camouflaged place.

[Disappointing to see all the Ikea pencils left in there, left an ipod mini skin. TN.]
